Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (LATCB) has launched a new training app that will help agents better sell LA as a destination.
Available on Apple and Android phones for free, the programme, L.A. Insider, offers three modules: basic travel information; an introduction on to-dos and to-sees in five key neighbourhoods; and ways to explore LA by theme – think outdoors, entertainment and shopping.

Agents can gain access to incentives such as fam trips and promotions on the platform.
But what really sets the app apart from other tourism boards’ offerings is its predominant use of videos. “It’s easy to learn, takes only 30 minutes to complete and is great for time-poor agents,” said Craig Gibbons, regional director of Oceania & South-east Asia.
First introduced in Australia, Europe and Canada last year, L.A. Insider is now available to agents in Asia, as part of LATCB’s efforts to grow the market.
Last year, South-east Asia contributed 119,000 visitors to LA with Singapore and Malaysia as top source markets. This figure is expected to grow by 2.5% in 2019 to 122,000.
