Disney Cruise Line is rolling out the magic carpet at Shanghai Disney Resort with its first mainland China consumer pop-up, giving prospective passengers a preview of the Singapore-based Disney Adventure.

Opened on 4 November at Disneytown, the resort’s shopping and dining district, the exhibition runs until 15 January 2027.

A 40-metre structure modelled on the ship’s exterior anchors the exhibition, giving visitors a porthole into the vessel’s seven themed areas. Inside, interactive screens showcase the megaship’s dining, entertainment and onboard activities.

“Our collaboration with Shanghai Disney Resort gives guests in the Chinese mainland a special way to step into that story before beginning their holiday in Singapore,” said Sarah Fox, vice president and regional general manager for Southeast Asia at Disney Cruise Line.

Upcoming Disney Adventure documentary

The titular ship also takes the spotlight in Disney Adventure: Charting a New Course, premiering in selected markets from 28 November on Disney+, National Geographic’s linear channel and JioHotstar. The documentary traces its transformation in Germany through to its arrival and christening in Singapore in March 2026.

The film looks at the development of its seven themed areas, crew training and entertainment rehearsals, including the creation of “Remember”, the original musical that brings WALL-E and EVE to the stage. It also follows Singaporean first officer Hanisah Valberg as she prepares for the ship’s launch and return to her home country.

Third Shanghai Disney Resort hotel

Separately, Shanghai Disney Resort will open the 400-room Shanghai Disney Enchanted Star Hotel on 16 December, during the pop-up’s run. Joining Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel as the resort’s third Disney-themed property, it sits beside Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and overlooks Wishing Star Lake.

Reservations open on 6 November through official resort channels and authorised travel partners.
