Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) welcomed a Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge (HZMB) tour party on the first day of the new bridge’s operation on Wednesday.
Spanning the sea from an artificial island near Hong Kong International Airport to Macao and the mainland Chinese city of Zhuhai, the 55-kilometre bridge is 20 times longer than San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.
Samuel Lau, managing director of HKDL, travelled to Zhuhai to accompany the tour party to the resort, which is located within 10 minutes’ drive from the Hong Kong port of the bridge. From there buses connect visitors to HKDL.
“The opening of HZMB brings the western Guangdong region closer to HKDL. We will fully leverage our geographical advantage and strengthen our promotions, positioning HKDL as a top travel destination for guests from the western Guangdong region,” said Lau.
The 50-guest tour party from Zhuhai took just 45 minutes to clear immigration before receiving a warm welcome from Mickey and Minnie Mouse as they arrived at the resort.
With the HZMB connecting to Lantau in Hong Kong, HKDL and Ngong Ping 360 have jointly launched a one-day ticket combo that offers both experiences, as well as other discounts.
The resort and China Travel Service Gongbei Port Guangdong have also launched special packages that include a cross-border bus trip on the HZMB and park ticket.
