On December 11, Michelin will reveal the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong Macau 2019 and the restaurants that have been awarded.
Michelin has also for the first time launched a special edition focused on a type of cuisine — The MICHELIN Guide Fine Cantonese Food.
Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guides says, "The MICHELIN Guide is now acclaiming, internationally, Cantonese gastronomy, which enjoys a worldwide reputation and is appreciated both in Asia, Europe, North America and in the Pacific”.
The guide lists 291 establishments of which 78 are starred restaurants, 62 are Bib Gourmand restaurants and 151 are restaurants awarded a MICHELIN Plate.
There are 69 restaurants of Michelin-starred Cantonese restaurants in Asia, followed by eight in Europe and one in the United States.
