Frasers Hospitality, a business unit of Frasers Property Limited, has invested S$140million (US$109 million) into refurbishing four properties in Kuala Lumpur, London, Melbourne and Singapore.
The asset enhancement initiatives stem from the group’s “long-term conviction in gateway cities with strong underlying fundamentals,” said Jason Leong, head of investment and asset management.
These “high-quality assets with strong long-term fundamentals” will be repositioned to “build a more resilient, future-ready portfolio capable of delivering enduring value across cycles,” Leong added. This will cover areas such as enhancing communal spaces, increasing keys and pushing operational efficiency.
Frasers House, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Singapore, which was rebranded earlier in January from the former InterContinental Singapore hotel in Bugis, is undergoing a phased transformation scheduled for completion by December 2027.
Enhancements cover guest rooms, the lobby, food and beverage outlets and meeting facilities, alongside a comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) overhaul to future-proof building systems.
The Westin Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia will undergo similar updates, as well as sustainability upgrades so the hotel reaches a GreenRE Gold certification when the project wraps in July 2027.
In Melbourne, space optimisation changes mean that Novotel Melbourne on Collins will receive 72 additional keys when it completes upgrades in June 2027.
The Park International Hotel, which has been closed since October last year, will reopen as Capri by Fraser, Kensington/London when it reopens in February 2027. Full-scale refurbishments cover design and technology upgrades, and a complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing overhaul.
Comprising seven restored Victorian buildings, the 180-unit property will also add nine more keys when it opens, as well as new social spaces to accommodate hybrid work patterns.
