Over 1,200 crew and partners Royal Caribbean joined to officially welcome the delivery of Legend of the Seas, the newest and third icon class ship readying for a July 2026 European debut.

The ceremony was led by Royal Caribbean Group chairman and CEO Jason Liberty, Royal Caribbean president and CEO Michael Bayley, and shipmaker Meyer Turku’s CEO Casimir Lindholm.

“Today’s delivery of Legend of the Seas marks another important milestone in our ambition to continuously redefine the vacation experience,” said Liberty.

“This new ship reflects the strength of the vacation ecosystem we are building – combining industry-leading ships, innovative technology, and exceptional experiences for our guests.”

In about a month’s time, Legend of the Seas will journey from Turku to Cadiz, Spain, where Royal Caribbean will add finishing touches before passengers sail on seven-night western Mediterranean adventures from Barcelona, Spain, and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy.

When it sets sail, the 5,610 pax ship will offer the largest dining lineup at sea with 28 options, split into complimentary and specialty offers.

Entertainment will span stage, air, water and ice, including Roald Dahl’s ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ which makes its golden ticket debut at sea, alongside popular reality TV competition America's Got Talent.

More thrills, chill and entertainment also await at the largest waterpark at sea, while larger families can check out the redesigned three-storey ultimate family townhouse.

For travellers seeking to minimise their environmental footprint, Legend is powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG) and runs on several environmental programmes, including waste heat recovery systems to shore power connection.

Next in the icon class is Hero of the Seas, scheduled for a 2027 debut.
