Disneyland characters are ready to welcome back guests to the Hong Kong theme park.

HONG KONG - Great news for Disney fans – Hong Kong Disneyland will reopen on Thursday 18 June after being closed  since late January.

The theme park will operate at a reduced capacity and with a new ticket reservation system for all guests. Hotels at the resort are also to reopen gradually.

During the initial reopening phase, all guests, including ticket holders and members, will be required to book a trip through the theme park’s  website seven or eight days before a visit.

Magic Access members can reserve one day in advance, beginning from 15 June and reservations for other guests will begin at 12 pm on 16 June.

At reopening, the park will implement social distancing in queues, restaurants, attraction vehicles and other facilities. Character experiences requiring close interaction and close-up photos will be temporarily suspended.

All guests entering the park will be required to undergo temperature screening and wear face masks.

Ocean Park, the city’s other theme park, reopened at the weekend, and the government said the move to open both was a key step in rebooting an economy hit severely by the coronavirus pandemic.
