In Vietnam’s south-central province of Ninh Dinh, hotels in the beach city of Quy Nhon have been required to list their prices, said Huynh Cao Nhat, deputy director of the provincial Department of Tourism.
As Vietnam readies for the long holiday marking the Reunification Day (April 30) and International Labor Day (May 1), authorities in tourist cities and provinces across the country have introduced measures to cope with traffic jams and prevent visitors from being overcharged.
In Vietnam’s south-central province of Ninh Dinh, hotels in the beach city of Quy Nhon have been required to list their prices, said Huynh Cao Nhat, deputy director of the provincial Department of Tourism.
Regular inspections at tourist areas in the locality will also be carried out by a team, Tuoi Tre News reported. The department has setup a hotline for tourists to report complaints and violations that is open around the clock during the holidays.
The provincial Department of Transport is also looking to enforce measures to ensure traffic safety for tourists along local streets and inland water routes.
On the Saturday, first day of the long weekend holiday, the north-central province of Quang Binh had already reportedly received over 30,000 people, which is 15% more than the previous year.
Officers have been mobilised to popular tourist spots to handle violations such as overcharging at local diners, restaurants, and parking lots.
At the tourist town of Da Lat in the central highlands of Lam Dong, traffic offers have been deployed to direct traffic along major routes in the city, said Lieutenant Colonel Mai Xuan Hue, deputy chief of the municipal traffic police division.
