After a brief period of grace, the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) is now mandatory for passport holders of most countries.

To be completed within three days of travel for every visit to Malaysia, the MDAC requires foreign travellers to provide details such as their name, passport information, nationality, date of arrival, date of departure, mode of transport (air, land, or sea), and the last port of embarkation. Failing to adhere to this may result in refusal of entry.

Arrivals from Singapore are among those not required to complete the digital declaration.

Others on the exemption list include holders of diplomatic and official passports, Malaysian permanent residents and long-term pass holders, as well as frequent and border pass holders from Thailand, Indonesia and Brunei.
