Beijing wants its citizens to walk more – and tourists are welcome to join – with the launch of 52 curated scenic trail networks spanning all of its districts.

The goal is to integrate the capital's tourism, culture, forestry, agriculture and water landscapes into a cohesive leisure loop – and to encourage healthier lifestyles.

All routes are equipped with essential amenities to facilitate journeys of all sorts, from leisurely walks to runs, cycling, picnics, or cultural exploration of Beijing’s districts.

Online portals are also up on major Chinese social platforms, including Meituan, Qunar, and Weibo, housing guides, where nearby facilities can be found, and events registration options.

Looking forward, Beijing will continue upgrading greenway services and diversifying its recreational options. These scenic corridors are hoped to not only create new ways to explore the city, but also as fresh drivers for cultural tourism.
