Starting 1 December, all international travellers entering the
Malaysia are required to fill up the Malaysia Digital Arrival Card
(MDAC) prior to their arrival, as announced by the Immigration
Department of Malaysia through a Facebook post.
This online arrival card, accessible on the Immigration Department’s MDAC website,
mandates submission before arrival for all non-residents, excluding
Malaysia’s permanent residents, Malaysia Automated Clearance System pass
holders, and individuals transiting or transferring through Singapore
without requiring immigration clearance.
Additionally, on 5 December, Malaysia's Home Minister Saifuddin
Nasution specified that the MDAC would not be mandatory for individuals
who frequently travel to the country, such as Singaporeans and long-term
pass holders in Malaysia.
As outlined on the MDAC website, travellers are required to fill out
the digital form within three days prior to their arrival in Malaysia.
The form includes necessary personal information such as name,
nationality, passport details, as well as intended arrival and departure
dates.
Compliance with this new digital arrival procedure is now mandatory for all incoming foreign travellers to Malaysia.
