Macao has long been a glittering jewel in the world of food – a city where global influences blend seamlessly with Asian flavours. From collaborations between world-class chefs to local dishes infused with international flair, Macao’s culinary scene is a playground for foodies and curious palates alike.

This season, Macao’s dining scene is bursting with flavours as a host of food festivals and chef-led events take over the city – promising bold flavours, star-studded collaborations and memorable experiences.

One of the highlights is the Macao Food Festival, returning for its 25th edition from 14 to 30 November at Sai Van Lake Square. A delicious microcosm of Macao’s rich food culture, this well-loved food festival gathers around 150 stalls together, offering everything from classic Macanese treats like egg tarts, pork chop buns to international favourites. Serradura (also known as Sawdust Pudding, is a creamy and delightful Portuguese dessert made with layers of whipped cream and crushed Maria biscuits, resembling sawdust)

Adding to the excitement, the festival also features the International Chinese Cuisine Chef Championship, where teams from over 40 countries and regions will compete at the Galaxy International Convention Centre. It’s a global showdown for top chefs pushing the boundaries of Chinese cuisine.

For a taste of local authenticity reimagined, MGM’s Barra Kitchen transforms the historic shipbuilding dock in Barra District into a vibrant street food playground. Eight food trucks out creative spins on beloved Macanese specialties – think lobster pot, chicken wing bread, hand-made fish balls, crispy shrimp balls, and traditional Chinese sweet soups – all served in a lively, outdoor atmosphere that pays tribute to Macao’s iconic open-air dai pai dong stalls.
