Dusit International has expanded its presence in northern Thailand with the management of Tantawan Tented Camp, a boutique retreat located in Chiang Rai.
Set among mountain scenery and 40 minutes from Chiang Rai International Airport, the camp offers 10 safari-style tents ranging from two-bedroom family options to a one-bedroom suite. Each comes with private bathrooms, handcrafted teak furnishings, and modern amenities. Facilities include a central swimming pool, outdoor amphitheatre, and a range of guest activities such as trekking, meditation, pottery, archery, and pickleball.
The retreat will serve as a living example of Dusit’s ‘Tree of Life’ programme, which promotes sustainability and social impact across the company’s operations. A key part of this initiative is collaboration with Sunflower Organic Farm, run by non-profit Friends of Thai Daughters. The organisation supports ethnic minority girls at risk of trafficking, and Dusit plans to provide training programmes, workshops, and work experience opportunities through Dusit Thani College, The Food School, and Dusit properties.
Guests will be able to tour the farm, which supplies fresh produce, herbs, and eggs for the camp’s Reu Doo Gaan restaurant.
“Managing Tantawan Tented Camp gives us a fantastic opportunity to bring the Tree of Life vision to life beyond our branded properties and showcase our commitment to having a positive impact wherever we operate,” said Gilles Cretallaz, Chief Operating Officer, Dusit International.
To mark the start of its management, Dusit has introduced two promotional packages: a ‘Stay 3, Pay 2’ deal from THB 9,450 (US$290) per night, valid for bookings until 15 October 2025, and a two-night half-board voucher package at THB 23,900 (US$734), available from 21 August–31 March 2026.
Tantawan Tented Camp joins other independently operated Dusit-managed resorts in Thailand, including Seapine Beach Golf and Resort in Hua Hin, Green Lake Resort in Chiang Mai, and Chainarai Riverside in Chiang Rai.
