Hyatt Hotels Corporation has unveiled The Barai Hua Hin, the first property in Thailand to join The Unbound Collection by Hyatt, marking a new chapter for one of the country's best-known wellness destinations.
Set along the beachfront of Khao Takiap in Hua Hin, the 98-room beachfront resort builds on the legacy of The Barai, which first opened as a wellness spa 20 years ago. The expansion transforms the property into a full-service boutique resort while retaining wellness as its core focus.
Designed by Thai architect Lek Mathar Bunnag, the resort draws inspiration from the elements of water, fire, earth and air, with courtyards, water features and open-air shaded spaces intended to create a more restorative environment.
Accommodation comprises 98 guestrooms and suites, including 27 suites and a pair of two-bedroom penthouses – all anchored by large balconies overlooking the region’s lush, forested landscape.
Higher-category suites offer butler service, large terraces, in-suite rituals and daily massage inclusions.
At the centre of the resort is its signature The Barai Spa. The 18 treatment rooms come with outdoor soaking pools, rain showers, Thai daybed enclaves, as well as three hydrotherapy rooms. Outside, a 30-meter saltwater pool and day spa with lounge and steam sauna facilities complete the experience.
Wellness extends to a two-storey Wellness Hub which includes a 24-hour fitness studio, yoga studio, holistic zone and wellness shop. The hub is led by an integrated wellness practitioner whose work fuses traditional Chinese medicine, sound vibration, energy healing and mindful art.
Here, guests may book programmes covering areas such as sleep recovery, women’s health, longevity, emotional wellbeing and heart health.
The resort also features two dining concepts led by chef Benn Rowe. These include White Cottage, which focuses on seafood and Thai-inspired cuisine, and McFarland House, a restored beachfront 19th-century pavilion serving modern European fare.
Guests can also access nearby attractions including Kui Buri National Park, Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park, and Phraya Nakhon Cave.
