Hilton has expanded its presence in Malaysia with the opening of Hilton Burau Bay Langkawi Resort, a 251-room beachfront property spanning 8.9 hectares.

“As travellers increasingly prioritise restoration and purposeful discovery, we are focused on growing a portfolio that responds to these shifts. This resort has been designed as a haven that invites guests to slow down and immerse themselves in the island’s natural rhythm, ensuring they leave feeling genuinely energised,” said Vincent Ong, vice president, full service brands, Asia Pacific, Hilton.

The resort’s guestrooms and suites come with private balconies or terraces overlooking the rainforest, mountains or sea. This includes 16 connecting rooms for families and larger groups.

The resort’s four restaurants continue with the same nature-led philosophy featuring vaulted ceilings, timber-clad walls, and open-air terraces. Gingerfire, the resort’s all-day dining restaurant serves Asian flavours paired with international classics; coffees and light bites at the lobby’s Haliya Lounge; Mingzhu spins things up with the spice-driven traditions of Yunnan’s ethnic tribes; alongside Italian flavours at Trattoria Mare.

Apart from beachfront access, there are three distinct pools: a family-friendly hub, a dedicated kids’ splash area and a secluded adults-only retreat. These are complemented by five meditative rock pools. Families can also park the little ones at the kids' club.

The eforea spa additionally offers specialised facilities such as outdoor sauna barrels for deep heat therapy and a dedicated salt room for respiratory health and skin rejuvenation.

Guests wanting to head out can book guided rainforest walks and nature encounters at the Nature Center, also a base for securing spots at the resort’s courts for tennis, pickleball, and basketball.

For the meetings and events market, the resort features 500 sqm of indoor and outdoor event space, including the pillarless Orchid Grand Ballroom for up to 210 guests, flexible meeting rooms, a Grand Lawn and a 650-metre private beachfront.

The opening strengthens Hilton's resort portfolio in one of Malaysia's key leisure destinations, as the group continues its expansion across the country ahead of the planned openings of Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur and Conrad Kuala Lumpur later this year.
