Sri Lanka’s US$1.2 billion City of Dreams integrated resort will officially open its doors in capital city Colombo on 2 August.

The resort is a joint venture between Sri Lanka’s multinational conglomerate, John Keells Holdings (JKH), and Hong Kong-based integrated resort developer, Melco Resorts & Entertainment,

The resort includes the launch of the Nüwa Hotel, a world-class casino, high-end restaurants and a premium shopping promenade.

The complex also features expansive MICE facilities, tailored for international conventions and large-scale events.

Krishan Balendra, chairman of JKH, said the project is the realisation of a long-term vision for Colombo’s transformation into a lifestyle and business hub.

“This initiative reflects our belief in Sri Lanka’s future, and our commitment to reshaping its tourism economy,” he added.

Lawrence Ho, chairman and CEO of Melco Resorts & Entertainment, called the project a “transformational opportunity” and a gateway to Sri Lanka’s untapped potential in luxury tourism and entertainment.
