Grand Hyatt Hong Kong has announced the appointment of Mark Holmes as the new general manager, effective 16 September 2024. Holmes returns to the Hyatt family after a distinguished career in hospitality.

His journey began in 1990 at Grand Hyatt New York, where he served as a corporate trainee following his graduation with a diploma in Hotel and Tourism Management from County College of Morris and a Bachelor of Science in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management from New York University.

Over the next two decades, Holmes held various roles across more than 15 Hyatt hotels worldwide, including positions in catering, banquet sales, and Food & Beverage management. His career took him to locations such as Australia, Oman, Taipei, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and China.

In 2010, he became the general manager at Park Hyatt Sanya Sunny Bay Resort, later serving as executive general manager of food & beverage at Crown Melbourne in 2013. Since 2020, he has been the executive general manager of hospitality at Crown Towers Sydney.
