Industry veteran Erwann Mahe has been appointed managing director - Asia of Best Western Hotels & Resorts to drive growth of the hotel chain in the regional market.
He replaces former regional chief, Olivier Berrivin, who remains with the BWH Hotel Group parent company in his new position as managing director of WorldHotels APAC.
Mahe joins the group with more than 23 years of experience. His prior roles include managing Accor's large-scale hotels, COO at Red Planet Hotels and executive vice president of hotel investment at The Erawan Group.
In his new role at BWH, Mahe will focus his efforts on supporting hoteliers through the upcoming recovery and expanding the brand’s portfolio of hotels throughout APAC.
“Our industry has suffered greatly in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and as an organisation we are committed to supporting our hoteliers in their recovery. I believe that Erwann’s deep regional expertise and strategic thinking will deliver tremendous value to our hoteliers in Asia as we navigate the years ahead," said president and CEO David Kong.
BWH marks its 20th year of operations in Asia in 2021. The brand currently has a portfolio of 18 brands, with approximately 4,700 hotels in more than 100 countries and territories worldwide, including hotels currently in the development pipeline.
