The 526-room Birkin International Hotel has announced its soft launch, marking a new standard for responsible luxury in Malacca. Located near the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the hotel offers a mix of sophisticated design and sustainability initiatives.
Overlooking the Straits of Malacca, the RM500 million (US$114 million) property is designed by award-winning Taiwanese architects, blending world-class luxury with a commitment to environmental and social responsibility. It is situated close to historic landmarks such as the A Famosa fortress, Jonker Street, and The Stadhuys, offering guests both cultural immersion and convenience.

Additional amenities include an outdoor pool with panoramic views, a wellness centre, a kids' club, a fitness centre, and event spaces for corporate and social gatherings.
Sustainability is central to the hotel's operations, with initiatives such as rainwater harvesting, smart HVAC systems, composting programs, and reduced single-use plastics. EV charging stations and self-check-in kiosks further highlight the hotel's eco-friendly approach.
