One of Phu Quoc Island’s most iconic spots for panoramic sea views and sunset photography has been demolished, after authorities found multiple violations at the tourist site.
Located at An Giang Province, southern Vietnam, The Peak was built illegally on Dien Tien Mountain, offering large-scale tourist facilities spanning a bungalow accommodation area, swimming pool, spa service area and a main building.
There are also several art installations meant for the ‘gram, including the Timeless Kiss statue, Love Bridge, Heaven Gate, and Eden Pool, according to The Peak’s website.
Built 700 metres above sea level, the venue also offered events planning, framed by unhindered views of Phu Quoc’s nature in the background.
The owner, Le Trong Dai, had built the site in mid-2024. Since early June 2026, authorities have torn down the site over multiple violations including development that encroached on more than 5,100 sqm forest land and state-managed property, as well as the illegal leasing of venues to third party vendors.
Officials added that they had issued repeated sanctions and warnings prior to the demolition.
