Mandarin Oriental, Moscow will have a prime riverfront location on the Sofiyskaya embankment in the heart of the city, directly facing the Kremlim. The location of the hotel also makes it easy for business and leisure travellers to gain access to the city’s many tourist attractions, historic sites and business districts.

Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group recently signed a management contract for a new hotel and branded residences in Moscow, Russia, which is expected to open come 2021.

It is, however, not a big hotel. The boutique property will have 65 guest rooms and suites, two restaurants, a lounge bar, as well as spa and wellness facilities — including a 25-metre indoor swimming pool for those brutal Russian winters.

Aside from the aforementioned 65 guest rooms and suites, the property will also house 137 residences at Mandarin Oriental, which will be the first branded luxury residential development in Moscow.

“Mandarin Oriental hotels are found in many major cities around the world, and bear a seal of quality that signals luxury, service excellence and attention to detail. We look forward to creating Moscow's first hotel and residential project in a prime location in front of the Kremlin, overlooking the Moskva river. The property will redefine the standard for luxury accommodation in Russia,” said Pavel Te, Chairman of Capital Group, a development group that owns the project.
