IHG Hotels and Resorts is primed to expand its portfolio across Asia Pacific with the rapid growth of its premium brand, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts.

The APAC region already accounts for over 160 existing hotels under the Crowne Plaza brand, and the hotel group is planning to launch 75 more over the next few years. Globally, Crowne Plaza hotels number more than 400.

The upcoming Crown Plaza properties will feature a similar approach introduced to the 308-key Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay, which launched in December 2021. There will be more spaces with technology-based amenities that allow both the modern business traveller and leisure traveller to connect digitally for work, social interactions or play.

Other recent openings include Crowne Plaza Shanghai Hongqiao, the 100th property for the brand in China, and four new openings in Australia spanning Sydney, Adelaide and Tasmania.

Following its extensive refurbishment, the Crowne Plaza Bangkok Grand Sukhumvit’s room count will increase from 386 to 514.
