SINGAPORE - Aman Resorts plans a phased reopening of its resorts around the world, with the brand’s resorts in Asia soon to be back in business.

In a statement, Aman said, “When reassessing travel in a post-Covid-19 world, it is important to go back to Aman’s roots as the pioneer in this ultra-luxury and niche segment of hideaway resorts.

“In numerous ways, the generosity of space and efforts to slow down time, have always been firmly ingrained in Aman’s DNA, from the architecture and design of standalone pavilions with private pools, to the low room count and subtle service which now makes the brand a blueprint for the future of travel.”

The first Aman, Amanpuri in Phuket, established the concept and since then Aman has grown to encompass 32 hotels and resorts in 20 destinations, with a further eight coming soon, taking the brand to 40 resorts in 22 countries.

Aman Tokyo opened  1 July , joining Amanemu in Japan, which opened 1 June.

Other 1 July openings will be Amantaka (Laos), Amandari, Amankila and Aman Villas at Nusa Dua (all Indonesia).

Amanpulo (Philippines) will reopen 26 June and Amanbagh (India) on 1 Sept.

Aman’s  four resorts in China are all open while Aman Kyoto (Japan), Amanoi (Vietnam) and Amansara (Cambodia) remained open throughout the coronavirus pandemic.

The villas at Amanpuri in Thailand have also remained open. The hotel reopens 1 July.
