Singapore’s beloved nocturnal playground is back – and it’s bringing inflatable rainbows, island tales and puppet theatre to the heart of the city.
From 22 August to 6 September 2025, the Singapore Night Festival (SNF) returns for its 16th edition with over 80 experiences transforming the Bras Basah.Bugis (BBB) precinct into a glittering hub of heritage, art, and community.
This year’s theme, Island Nights, pays homage to Singapore’s identity as an island nation – just in time for the country’s 60th year of independence. It’s also the first time the festival is helmed by HeritageSG, a National Heritage Board subsidiary.
Festival Director Qazim Karim shared: _“_We delve deep into Singapore’s identity as an island nation across Bras Basah.Bugis, and explore our heritage of deep connections and cultural exchanges.”
Expect crowd favourites like projection mapping lighting up the National Museum and CHIJMES, alongside Night Lights installations by regional artists across six locations. Don't miss Sky Castle, an inflatable artwork that responds to movement with colour and sound, and Kampong Chill, a city oasis perfect for winding down.
Beyond the lights, SNF 2025 introduces the ALIGHT Conference, spotlighting Southeast Asia’s light art scene, and the return of The Listening Biennial. Live performances, roving acts, and retro-themed festival villages add to the mix.
Kickstarting early on 1 August, the BBB National Day Activations will turn monuments and secret spaces into storytelling zones, themed Celebrating Our Island.
Entry is free, with selected ticketed programmes at heritage.sg/sgnightfest.
