Travellers will now be able to book their rides to and from the airport up to one month in advance with a new partnership between AirAsia and Uber.
Rides can be booked when travellers confirm, book or check in for AirAsia flights via its website or mobile app. Travellers who are new to Uber will also be able to enjoy free or discounted rides.
The partnership between the low-cost carrier and ride-sharing platform will provide travellers a more seamless transfer between their flights and rides to arrive at their destinations in the 52 cities in 16 markets across Asia Pacific and the US where both companies operate.
“By working together, we can provide a service that allows customers to request their Uber ride to the airport in step with their itinerary and have their Uber driver partner waiting for them when their flight lands,” said Uber's chief business officer for Asia Pacific, Brooks Entwistle.
AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes explained, “Working with Uber allows our guests to plan their entire trip from the moment they step out of their home right until they arrive at their destination, providing amazing travel comfort and peace of mind.”
