The partnership expands Ctrip Gourmet List’s North American reach following its introduction in 2016 to provide travellers with food and restaurant recommendations and online table reservations in major cities around the world.
Chinese mobile app users will soon be able to browse and book more than 10,000 restaurants across North America, thanks to a newly-inked partnership between Ctrip’s Ctrip Gourmet List, a restaurant sharing and discovery platform, and OpenTable, a provider of online restaurant reservations.
The partnership expands Ctrip Gourmet List’s North American reach following its introduction in 2016 to provide travellers with food and restaurant recommendations and online table reservations in major cities around the world.
The list currently covers approximately 15,000 restaurants in 120 popular destinations, and has seen a triple-digit growth since its launch.
North America is proving a fast-rising destination on the list of Chinese travellers according to data from Ctrip, China’s largest online travel agent, and Chinese visitors to the region are spending an average of 16,000 RMB (US$2,300) per person according to data from last year.
The partnership will enable mobile app users access to OpenTable’s network of restaurants in North America. In the third quarter of 2017, 57% of OpenTable's global seated diners originated on a mobile device.
The platform sees more than 24 million diners per month via online reservations across more than 43,000 restaurants around the globe.
Available in six languages, OpenTable has bookable restaurants in more than 20 countries.
