For those who can't yet cruise or have purchased tickets but are held back by various global restrictions, Carnival Cruise Line has launched a cruise edition of Monopoly to satisfy some of that wanderlust.
The playing board features an image of Carnival's latest and largest ship, the 5,282-passenger Mardi Gras, surrounded by an enviable shoreline of sandy beach and azure waters.
Just like the iconic 'fast dealing property game,' Carnival's Monopoly board features 28 of its popular features including the 24-hour food hall Lido Marketplace, and Bolt, the world's first roller coaster at sea. But first, players will have to navigate through cruise director announcements and various funnel — a ship feature distinct to the brand — chest card challenges to purchase their properties.

“Everyone has played Monopoly and we’re excited to create this one-of-a-kind version that includes many of Carnival’s most popular onboard spaces that we’re sure our fans will enjoy,” said Andres Villalever, director of retail for Carnival Cruise Line. “We’re always looking for new ways to celebrate the Carnival brand and when we had the opportunity to be a part of this custom-designed Monopoly game, we jumped at the chance.”
Carnival Cruise Line Monopoly is available on the line’s online retail site, for US$39.95.
