The world's first Peppa Pig Theme Park is set to open 2022 at Legoland Florida Resort, with ride and attraction details to be released later this year.
Under an exclusive multi-territory licensing agreement by Merlin Entertainments with Hasbro, the stand-alone park will feature instantly recognisable locations from the cartoon show, including rides, attractions, themed play and water play zones, live shows and Peppa Pig's iconic 'muddy puddles'.
Annual passes to Peppa Pig Theme Park will be available as standalone memberships or inclusive passes that will also grant admission to Legoland Theme Park, Legoland Water Park and other regional Merlin Entertainments attractions.
The new build will target the pre-school market, as part of its broader strategy to engage in intellectual property partnerships with some of the world’s most popular brands.
Peppa Pig currently boasts more than 1,000 licensees across 60 countries, where its television show is broadcast in 180 territories in 40 different languages, and the US market a key one for the pre-school brand.
"We have already had great success with our immersive Peppa Pig World of Play attractions both here in the US and in Asia. Working with our partners at Hasbro, we are excited to be taking the next step in creating this fully immersive theme park, which will bring to life even more of the sights, sounds and experiences that family audiences know and love so much from Peppa’s world," said Mark Fisher, group chief development officer, Merlin Entertainments.
With the success of the inaugural Peppa Pig World of Play (PPWoP) in Shanghai in October 2018, Merlin Entertainments went on to open the same indoor play centre concept — its first in the US market — just four months later in February 2019.
