Madame Tussauds has unveiled its most ambitious project to date – 13 new Taylor Swift wax figures launching simultaneously across 13 cities on four continents.
The figures mark the largest multi-location rollout in the entertainment brand’s 250-year history, commemorating the star’s record-breaking Eras Tour. A team of over 40 artists spent 14 months crafting the figures, each styled in a unique look from the tour.
The Sydney figure, revealed today, celebrates The Tortured Poets Department era. It features a white taffeta corseted gown by Vivienne Westwood, inscribed with lyrics from Fortnight. The look is completed with white lace-up Christian Louboutin boots, crystal-embellished gloves, and a bespoke microphone from Rebel Stage Gear UK.
Danielle Cullen, Senior Figure Stylist at Madame Tussauds, said: “This is the most ambitious project in Madame Tussauds' 250-year history... It feels a fitting celebration to give Swifties the chance to commemorate moments from this once-in-a-generation tour in a way that only Madame Tussauds can.”
The new figures will be displayed in Amsterdam, Berlin, Blackpool, Budapest, Hollywood, Hong Kong, Las Vegas, London, Nashville, New York, Orlando, and Sydney, with a touring figure beginning in Shanghai.
Laura Sheard, Global Brand Director, added: “Taylor Swift is a generational icon and a cultural powerhouse... The phenomenal success of her record-smashing tour is the perfect moment for Madame Tussauds to immortalise with 13 figures.”
Madame Tussauds Sydney's new figure will be open to the public from 24 July.
