In a timely move that coincides with Singapore’s rapidly growing Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) list, SkyHelix Sentosa will open to the public on 15 December 2021, just in time to welcome an increasing number of international travellers.

SkyHelix is Mount Faber Leisure Group’s highly anticipated new attraction that was built during the pandemic. Its completion is expected to contribute to tourism interest in Singapore.

“As Singapore eyes a long-term goal recovery of its tourism sector, the opening of SkyHelix Sentosa signals a strong message of hope and optimism for the industry and country,” said Buhdy Bok, managing director of Mount Faber Leisure Group.

On a similar note, Jean Ng, director of attractions, entertainment and tourism concept development for Singapore Tourism Board is hopeful that “As international travel gradually resumes, new attractions like SkyHelix Sentosa will enhance our attractiveness and signal to international travellers that Singapore is ready to welcome them.”

Slated to be Singapore’s highest open-air panoramic ride, the SkyHelix is situated along the shores of Sentosa at Imbiah Lookout, Singapore’s biggest cluster of attractions. The new addition to the island towers 79m above sea level, and will take guests on a gravity-defying ride up to the top of its structure.

Along the ascent, the vertically inclined ride will gently rotate for guests sitting at different parts of the gondola to snap Instagrammable selfies from every vantage point, and will continue revolving for 10 minutes at its peak.

In line with Sentosa’s vision to becoming carbon neutral by 2030, the SkyHelix is the first carbon-neutral attraction on the island, specifically designed for energy efficiency.

According to representatives of the Mount Faber Leisure Group, the attraction will roll out seasonal and festive experiences in the near future. The gondola’s unique structure that seats 16 guests facing inward, circumferential to a bar top table, also offers the potential for unique corporate meetings or group gatherings.
