The highly anticipated ‘Stranger Things’ haunted house will feature the most number of thematic rooms to date, transporting fans into twelve artfully recreated scenes and storylines, from the menacing Hawkins National Laboratory, to the Byers Home adorned with an erratic display of flashing Christmas lights and the eerie Upside Down woods.
Universal Studios Singapore’s popular Halloween Horror Nights returns for its eighth edition from September 26 to October 31, this time with a brand new tie-up with Netflix to bring to life its critically-acclaimed series, Stranger Things.
The attraction will also feature four other haunted houses, which will shine the spotlight on Asian horror, which have proven to be a hit amongst local guests, according to Resorts World Sentosa in a release.
The houses include: ‘Killuminati’ – the Chinese secret society of vampies that has existed for centuries; ‘Yotsuya’, based on a Japanese ghost story; the legend of the ‘Pontianak’; and ‘The Haunting of Oiwa’ from the Edo-era of Japan, which brings visitors face-to-face with Lady Oiwa who returns from the dead to seek revenge after being poisoned by her unfaithful husband.
But the thrilling experience doesn’t end there – fans can look forward to being thrown into chaos at two Western-themed scare zones, ‘Apocalyse: Earth’ and ‘Cannibal’, and take a break from the screams during three live shows, which includes ‘Scaremony’ that takes place in an unsettling hospital filled with screaming apparitions of unwilling patients.
Don’t miss out on ‘DEAD Talk’, as the charismatic Gideon Grim, motiviational death coach, captivates guests with tips on highly effective scaring in this all-new, witty, seminar-style show with cutting-edge illusions, electrifying dancing and acrobatics at the Pantages Hollywood Theater.
If you need anymore heart-pumping action, take part in the Zombie Laser Tag, available at an additional S$38 (US$28) per participant, which is back by popular demand since its debut last year. Expect an arena double the size this year, as each team of eight works together to find off and “kill” zombies in infested areas.
The special nighttime event will run for 18 nights, including an additional night on September 27 to cater to the growing number of horror fans. Early bird ticket sales will run from now until August 12 at S$55 (non-peak) and S$65 (peak), while standard event tickets are available at S$58 (non-peak) and S$68 (peak) each. Fans can purchase an R.I.P. Tour that includes event admission, a guide who will share insider stories and escort fans to the various experiences, VIP access to haunted houses, private meet-and-greet sessions with creepy characters and more. Guests can also enjoy many of the theme park’s exciting rides and attractions.
