A passenger flying Scandinavian Airlines from Norway to the sunshine of Spain received a nasty shock when a mouse hopped out of an inflight meal.

On Facebook, one passenger wrote, “Believe it or not. A lady next to me at SAS opened the food and a mouse jumped out. Now we have turned around and landed at CPH (Copenhagen) for flight changes.”

Scandinavian Airlines was apologetic - thank goodness - saying that finding a mouse in an inflight meal is “extremely rare”.

“We have established procedures for such situations, which also include a review with our suppliers to ensure this does not happen again,” the airline said.

Those ‘established procedures’ include diverting the plane to the nearest airport in case the mouse - or a plague of mice - is chewing into the aircraft’s wires.

As for the mouse? Apparently, it was looking for the cheesecake.
