Lufthansa Group Airlines has announced the resumption of flights to
Tel Aviv, set to commence from 8 January 2024. Passengers have been able
to make bookings from 18 December when the detailed flight schedule was
released.
Initially, the schedule will encompass a total of 20 connections per
week, marking approximately 30% of the regular flight itinerary.
Lufthansa Airlines will operate four weekly flights from Frankfurt and
three from Munich. Austrian Airlines plans to offer eight weekly
connections, while SWISS aims for five weekly flights, primarily
utilising aircraft from the Airbus A320 family.
This reinstated flight service not only links Tel Aviv but also
serves as a pivotal point for travellers connecting to North America via
key hubs in Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna, and Zurich.
While emphasising safety as a paramount concern, the Lufthansa Group states that it is vigilantly monitoring Israel's security situation,
maintaining close liaison with local and international authorities.
Flexibility in the schedule is anticipated owing to the fluctuating
conditions.
Lufthansa Group Airlines had earlier ceased their scheduled flights
to and from Tel Aviv on 9 October 2023. However, in a separate
development, flights to Beirut, which had been suspended previously,
were reinstated on 15 December by Lufthansa, SWISS, and Eurowings.
