British Airways has launched the ‘On Business’ loyalty programme that targets small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Malaysia.

Robert Williams, head of Asia Pacific sales for British Airways, said the introduction of the programme to Malaysia was the airline’s commitment to the market.

‘On Business’ incorporates the loyalty programmes of three airlines - British Airways, Iberia and American Airlines.

Travellers on any of these airlines can collect points and use them on all partner airlines.

Williams said the programme would enable companies to manage their travel budget better, as members would be rewarded for the money spent rather than distance travelled or number of flights flown.

Under the three-tier system the traveller earns one point for every US$1 (US$4.39) for the first tier, 1.25 points for the second tier and 1.5 points for the third tier.

Registered companies in Malaysia are eligible to be members of the loyalty programme, and they can sign up at the British Airways website.

Malaysia is the ninth country in the region to have the programme after Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Thailand.
