Garuda Indonesia appears to have had a rethink about closing down its Jakarta–London Heathrow–Denpasar triangle service.
After closing reservations for the route last month, indicating that the London service would be suspended from October 27, the carrier reopened reservations last Friday for travel on/after June 22.
The latest update indicates the service will not be cancelled during the winter schedule that starts October 27 this year and runs through to March 31, 2020.
Garuda resumed serving London in December 2018, reinstating three weekly Jakarta-London-Jakarta flights only two months after suspending the route in October 2018. The Bali stop on the return sector from London was added on January 22, 2019.
But it has struggled to make the route profitable given the number of rival airlines who can offer more direct and timely schedules between Bali and Jakarta and London.
