Forget Orchard Road, Marina Bay, or Sentosa. There’s something comforting about staying in Singapore’s unique districts that locals, instead of hordes of tourists, flock to. Momentus Serviced Residences Novena is one such property, placing guests in the heart of the Balestier/Novena precinct, where shophouse restaurants offering local favourites such as bak kut teh (pork rib soup) and chicken rice meet bustling hawker centres.
Launched in September 2023, this property offers something different from the usual tourist hotspots, just like how its sister property, Momentus Hotel Alexandra, immerses guests in Singapore’s Queenstown heritage neighbourhood that brims with local charm and attractions.

A cosy sanctuary with thoughtful touches
What sets Momentus Serviced Residences Novena apart is its ability to make guests feel right at home. Nestled among residential towers, the 14-storey property exudes a homely vibe. From the moment you pass through the security entrance and access the building with your bamboo keycard, it feels like you’re stepping into your own private sanctuary.
With three apartment types – Two Bedroom Premier with Balcony, One Bedroom Premier with Balcony, and Studio Premier with Balcony – the property is perfectly suited for business executives, couples, or families on extended or short-term stays in Singapore. The residence itself is beautifully designed, with modern furnishings and a spacious layout, and room sizes vary between 36 to 80 sqm. The earthy color palette and smart storage solutions create an inviting environment that is both functional and inviting.

Momentus Serviced Residences Novena’s cosy and comfortable bedroom that opens into views of the lush surroundings.
Inside, guests will find plush king-sized beds, smart TVs, ample closet space, and well-appointed bathrooms featuring amenities from Plus Minus Lab, such as wall-mounted dispensers for shampoo and shower gel. The kitchenette is a standout, fully equipped with a full-sized fridge, washer and dryer, as well as all the crockery and cutlery needed to cook a meal. And for those concerned about convenience and sustainability, tap water is drinkable, eliminating the need for bottled water.
Thumbs up too to Momentus Serviced Residences Novena’s pledge to sustainability, with a resident’s in-room manual of equipment and services that gently reminds guests of simple steps to converse energy and water during their stay.
Tranquility meets sustainability
During my stay, what’s incredibly relaxing was the abundance of lush greenery within and around the property. In the morning, I woke up to birdsong from the surrounding trees, a testament to the 40% green spaces thoughtfully integrated into the design. This commitment to sustainability has earned Momentus Serviced Residences Novena the highest greenery rating under Singapore's Green Mark Scheme by the Urban Redevelopment Authority.

Common areas at Momentus Serviced Residences Novena include the swimming pool on the second floor.
Guests can unwind at the second-floor swimming pool or outdoor terrace, stay active at the fitness center, or host a rooftop barbecue on the rooftop. The rooftop garden, which doubles as a relaxing chill-out zone or an exercise area, and is a personal favourite spot of mine for the breezy, panoramic views of the city.
Residence Manager Peter Chua and his team are a standout aspect of the residence. Peter’s warm demeanour and insider knowledge of the area elevate the guest experience. Thanks to his recommendations, I indulged in tau sar piah (traditional Chinese pastry made of mung bean) from renowned family-owned bakery 603 Tau Sar Piah – a five-minute walk away – and explored Whampoa Food Centre’s morning bustle.
Live it up like a local

There’s an abundance of lush greenery within and around the property at Momentus Serviced Residences Novena, even on the rooftop garden.
Momentus Serviced Residences Novena offers more than just a comfortable stay – it provides an authentic taste of local living. While the minimum stay requirement of six nights aligns with Singapore’s serviced residence rules, it’s the perfect accommodation choice for travellers to immerse themselves in the charm of Balestier and Novena, while seeking out properties that blend smart design, sustainability, and cultural immersion.
