The air-conditioned train will run on a trial basis from March 17 to end-September, the railway agency said Monday (March 5) on its Facebook.

The State Railway of Thailand will launch new train services to the eastern cities of Pattaya and Sattahip along the Gulf of Thailand on Saturdays and Sundays from the capital city of Bangkok.

The service will leave Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong station at 6.45 a.m. and arrive in Pattaya at 9.13 a.m.. The train is schedule to arrive at the final destination, Plutaluang in Sattahip district in Chon Buri, at 9.50 p.m.. 

On the return trip, the service departs Plutaluang at 3.50 p.m., reaching Pattaya at 4.26 p.m., before it arrives in Bangkok at 6.25 p.m.. 

Fares are priced at 170 baht (US$5.43) for the journey covering Bangkok, Pattaya and Sattahip, and reservation for seats is recommended, it added. 

Public transport will be available at main stations along the way to take passengers to town and tourist destinations.
