Oceania Cruises has unveiled the Oceania Sonata, the first of four 1,390-guest ships in its new Sonata Class.

The ninth vessel in the Oceania Cruises fleet will also be the most spacious and amenity-rich to date, when she sails on her maiden voyage in August 2027.

For instance, 30% of accommodation will be suites, of which two are brand new categories, while the Owner’s Suites series will also be reimagined. Each suite and stateroom will also come with a private veranda.

Oceania Sonata will feature 10 culinary experiences, as well as two brand new concepts marrying “world-class culinary talent with the creative freedom that results in unforgettable dining experiences,” said Chief Luxury Officer, Jason Montague.

La Table will be the only restaurant at sea to receive approval by Maîtres Cuisiniers de France (Master Chefs of France, MCF), a global institution dedicated to promoting the French culinary arts. It’ll seat just 18 guests, featuring a rotation of menus helmed by Oceania Cruises’ executive culinary directors and global MCFs. Oceania Cruises will also revive its Dom Pérignon Experience here, a six-course tasting menu paired with three vintage champagnes.

Nikkei Kitchen blends Peruvian ingredients and Japanese technique, centred around fresh seafood, citrus, soy-based sauces and peppers.

Returning guests will also find familiar fixtures on board. These include the grand dining room, and signature specialty dining venues such as Jacques, the line’s sophisticated French restaurant; pan-Asian Red Ginger; Polo Grill steakhouse; and Toscana, serving Italian specialties.

“Each new ship offers an opportunity to reimagine and perfect the travel experience, and as the inaugural vessel of our Sonata Class, Oceania Sonata embodies our vision for the future – one defined by a passion for exquisite cuisine, exceptional service and immersive travel experiences – and we cannot wait to share more news in the coming weeks and months.”
