Silversea, the leader in experiential luxury and expedition cruise travel, has officially launched its 2024/2025 Antarctica season, kicking off with the Silver Endeavour embarking on an 18-day voyage to iconic destinations such as South Georgia, the South Shetland Islands, and the Antarctic Peninsula.
Between October 29, 2024, and March 10, 2025, Silversea will deploy three ships—Silver Endeavour, Silver Wind, and Silver Cloud—offering 34 voyages, making it one of the most expansive and diverse Antarctica offerings in luxury expedition travel.
Guests aboard Silver Endeavour experienced spectacular wildlife sightings, including a pod of approximately 50 orca whales and a landing at the seldom-visited Baily Head, home to around 45,000 pairs of chinstrap penguins. Scenic stops in Wilhelmina Bay, Neko Harbour, and South Georgia further highlight the richness of Silversea’s itineraries.
Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea, expressed excitement for the upcoming season, emphasising the cruise line's commitment to innovation and leadership in luxury polar travel. He noted the addition of 22 new landing sites, bringing Silversea’s total to 80, ensuring guests enjoy a diverse expedition experience.
The announcement of a new 150-room hotel in Puerto Williams, set to open at the end of 2025, aims to further enhance the Antarctica travel experience, providing a seamless journey for guests.
Catering to varied traveller preferences, Silversea offers a range of six- to 22-day Antarctic voyages, including innovative fly-cruise options that bypass the notoriously rough Drake Passage. The 10-day Peninsula sailings allow for a quintessential polar experience, while longer trips provide deeper exploration into Antarctica and the Southern Ocean.
Silversea remains committed to personalising guest experiences, leveraging over 15 years of expertise in luxury expedition cruises. The dedicated expedition team comprises up to 28 experts, offering guided walks, wildlife identification, and onboard lectures that provide insights into Antarctica's unique environment and its historical exploration narratives, such as the story of Ernest Shackleton and his ship Endurance.
As Silversea kicks off its 2024/2025 Antarctica season, travellers and enthusiasts can look forward to unparalleled luxury and immersive experiences in one of the world's most breathtaking and remote destinations.
