Norwegian Cruise Line recently made an announcement that it will be cancelling three cruises scheduled to take place aboard the Norwegian Epic in 2025. The sailings, originally planned to depart between mid-April and early May, will no longer proceed due to an extensive ship refurbishment.

In a statement addressed to the guests who had already booked their trips, Norwegian Cruise Line expressed its commitment to providing exceptional vacation experiences worldwide and maintaining a consistently world-class product across its fleet. As a result, the company has decided to revitalise the Norwegian Epic in 2025, necessitating the cancellation of the sailings originally scheduled for 15 April, 26 April, and 5 May 2025. The company expressed sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by these changes.

The cancelled sailings were part of the ship's summer programme in Europe and were set to embark from Civitavecchia, the port for Rome. The itineraries, spanning nine to eleven nights, promised unforgettable journeys through the Eastern Mediterranean, including visits to the Greek Islands, Malta, Italy, and other captivating destinations.

Norwegian Cruise Line has assured affected passengers that they will receive a full monetary refund corresponding to the fare paid for the cancelled cruises. The reimbursement will be automatically issued to the same form of payment used for the original reservation. For those who made reservations using a Future Cruise Credit (FCC), the full amount will be re-applied to their guest's Latitudes Account without requiring any action.

In addition to the refund, the company has extended a gesture of goodwill to all affected guests. Each passenger will receive a 10% discount in the form of an FCC, which can be applied towards any of Norwegian Cruise Line's published sailings until 31 December 2025, offering an opportunity to plan a future voyage with the company.

This announcement follows a series of cancellations by Norwegian Cruise Line in late May, which were part of the company's redeployment plan for the Norwegian Epic. Originally intended for European winter cruises during the 2023-2024 season, the 4,200-guest vessel will now be offering voyages in the Caribbean during that period.
