MSC Seascape is set to be the new kid on the block offering bigger
kid-friendly activities incorporated with interactive digital
experiences. MSC Seascape will commence sailings in December aimed at
family cruisers.
Touted as the glamorous sister ship of MSC Seashore, the European
cruise line’s new ship is able to accommodate a maximum of 5,179
passengers across 2,270 cabins comprising 12 different types of cabins
and suites with balconies, including coveted aft suites.
Stretching 339m long, MSC Seashore will be the longest ship in MSC
Cruises’ fleet, offering 13,000sqm of outdoor space, 11 dining venues,
19 bars and lounges, and six swimming pools including an infinity pool
situated at the aft that looks out across the ocean.
Beyond its wide range of amenities, MSC Cruises claims that the ship
“will elevate the family experience and provide children with endless
options for onboard entertainment” as it has “invested heavily in the
entertainment proposition for our youngest guests”.
When
MSC Seascape sets sail on its maiden voyage in December this year on
its seven-night cruise itinerary to the Caribbean, the cruise line
promises 98 hours of live entertainment per cruise, over 700sqm of
dedicated kids’ space, and "cutting-edge amusement options".
There is a baby club on board featuring baby toys and products from
Chicco where parents can bond with their little ones from 1 to 3 years
old, or set them down for a good rest in one of the baby cots.
Kids from three to 11 years of age will be able to venture into the
Mini and Junior clubs that comprises a range of fun activities,
including an entire day dedicated to Lego bricks.
For teens aged between 12 to 17 years old, they will have three new
themed areas — a future-themed area featuring the latest generation
gaming consoles and virtual reality experiences; a ‘chill out’ area for
teens to socialise amongst like-minded individuals; and a dance club
featuring light and sound effects that allows teens to choose their own
songs.
There will even be game shows for entire families to participate in
such as ‘Break the Wall” which involves participants standing in front
of a giant technological wall that will determine which surprise
challenges must be performed on stage in front of a jury and an
audience.
“With MSC Seascape, we want to surprise and leave Generation Z
speechless. We've listened to the 350,000 young people who have traveled
with us over the years and followed their trends and requests," Matteo
Mancini, kids entertainment manager of MSC Cruises.
“We will offer even more space and new experiences for teenagers,
have exclusive game shows for this age group and the first ‘edutainment’
game show dedicated to history, bringing in the concepts of new
technology and social media,” Mancini added.
