The moment has arrived for Explora Journeys, MSC Group’s new luxury cruise line, as its inaugural ship, the Explora I, commenced its maiden voyage from Copenhagen, Denmark on 1 August 2023, after docking in the Port of Barcelona on 24 July in preparation for the trip.

Explora I is now embarking on a seven-night journey to destinations such as Lerwick, Shetland Islands, Kirkwall, Orkney, and Reykjavik, Iceland.

Following its inaugural sailing, Explora I is set to spend several weeks exploring Northern Europe, presenting a diverse range of itineraries, including both popular and off-the-beaten-path destinations.

Subsequently, it will traverse the Atlantic Sea via Greenland, embarking on a journey to North America in autumn, the Caribbean in winter, and the US West Coast and Hawaii in spring before returning to Europe in Summer 2024 for a series of voyages in the Mediterranean Sea.

Throughout all sailings, the ship will make stops at lesser-traveled ports, allowing guests to relish in more authentic and enriching experiences.

Its sister ship, the Explora II, is expected to make its debut in August 2024.

In line with MSC Group's Cruise Division's commitment to sustainable practices, Explora I boasts state-of-the-art environmental technologies. Equipped with selective catalytic reduction technology and the ability to connect to land-based electricity, the ship significantly reduces emissions, contributing to a cleaner maritime future.
