Malaysia’s largest Umrah and Hajj travel provider, Andalusia Travel & Tours, has entered Singapore, adding a major new player to the city-state’s competitive Muslim pilgrimage market.

The Malaysian operator, which has served more than 800,000 pilgrims since 2002, officially launched its Singapore arm on 27 August.

Founder Hajah Ida Riswana said in an official statement that the new chapter seeks to “build a presence that responds to the needs and aspirations of Singaporeans”.

Andalusia will launch introductory Umrah packages from S$2,990 per person for a 12-day, 10-night trip, targeting travellers who have traditionally crossed into Malaysia to seek more competitively priced pilgrimage options.

MD Fara Abdullah added that “our purpose in Singapore is to make the journey towards Umrah and Hajj feel within reach for more people.”

“That means providing greater choice and value for those ready to travel, trusted guidance for those taking their first steps, and being present in the community long before a pilgrimage begins. Our hope is for Andalusia to be a place Singaporeans can turn to wherever they are in that journey.”

The company says its Singapore presence is built around three priorities: affordability, knowledge and community.

Experiences and education before the journey begins

Rather than positioning its Singapore operation solely around selling pilgrimage packages, the company is also seeking to build engagement with potential pilgrims before they are ready to travel.

Initiatives include:

  • Free weekly classes for Muslims and the wider community at different stages of their pilgrimage journey. Sessions cover the fundamentals of Umrah and Hajj, key rituals and practical preparation. Held every Sunday from 9-11am at its Singapore office at 8A Pahang Street

  • Collaboration with Iman Kindergarten offering pilgrimage education to children, including Tawaf and Sa’i simulations

As part of its launch, Andalusia is also sponsoring an Umrah journey for a beneficiary of PPIS Rise Above Halfway House, which supports women undergoing community rehabilitation.

The group has more than 200 trained Mutawwif – pilgrimage guides – and an ecosystem of more than 200 travel agencies within its network.
