Six Senses is going places, planting its first flag in Israel and Spain.
Opening on 5 August is Six Senses Shaharut, touting biblical heritage in the lunar-like Arava Valley in the south of the Negev Desert.
There are just 60 suites and villas spread across the expansive desert landscape, along with a signature spa that offers six treatment rooms, two pools, and the Earth Lab showcases the resort’s approach to sustainability and the circular economy.
The retreat's desert setting presents guests a host of unique activities, from camel treks and overnight camping to e-mountain bike tours, jeep excursions, and Shabbat dinner in a nearby community.
Six Senses Shaharut is located a three-and-a-half hours' drive from Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, or three hours from Petra in neighboring Jordan.
Alternatively, guests can opt for a private helicopter transfer from Tel Aviv, or a 45-minute car transfer via the new Ramon International Airport near Eilat.

Six Senses goes to Ibiza
Six Senses Ibiza, billed as the first sustainable resort and residential community in the Balearics certified under the Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology, or BREEAM, standard, opened July 10.
The 116-room Six Senses Ibiza, the brand's first venture in Spain, is situated on an eight-hectare site in Xarraca Bay on the island's northern tip.
Accommodations include Cave Suites built into the coastal cliffs and stand-alone private residences available for rent or sale, while amenities include the Farmer's Market and four organic restaurants.
A Live Cave and Recording Studio; Sonus faber, a cinema and open-air stage; and Agora, part store and part entertainment and education centre are among the entertainment highlights.
Wellness treatments and customised immersions are available at the Six Senses Spa, and the RoseBar offers a menu of biohacking wellness techniques.
