PONANT Explorations has opened bookings for its 2028–2029 Antarctic season, with more than 30 departures aboard four expedition ships between November 2028 and February 2029.
Travellers can choose from a range of itineraries, starting with a 10-night Antarctic Peninsula expedition that includes a hotel stay in Buenos Aires, return flights between Buenos Aires and Ushuaia, and transfers.
The voyages feature crossings of the Drake Passage, Zodiac excursions, shore landings with naturalist guides, and opportunities to spot humpback whales, penguins, seals and seabirds. Two departures will also celebrate Christmas or New Year's Eve in Antarctica.
Those looking for a longer adventure can opt for itineraries covering Patagonia, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and New Zealand's Subantarctic Islands, with some cruises offering a post-voyage extension to Iguazú Falls.
Le Commandant Charcot, the line's icebreaker, will also return to Antarctica, sailing to remote regions including the Weddell Sea, Bellingshausen Sea and Marguerite Bay. Depending on the itinerary, guests can take part in activities such as snowshoeing, hiking and ski touring, while some departures also offer the chance to see emperor penguins.
The standout sailing is a 62-day, 60-night circumnavigation of Antarctica departing Ushuaia on 11 January 2028. The voyage will cover nearly 23,000km and visit destinations including the Ross Sea, Mount Erebus and Adélie Land. Two 31-day half-circumnavigations between Ushuaia and Hobart will also be available for booking.
PONANT is also extending its Serenity Policy for new bookings made between 1 April and 31 August 2026, which allows guests to modify or postpone their cruise free of charge to another departure within the same year or earlier, subject to terms and conditions.
