Singapore’s first resort-style co-living hotel is set to open end July, after a former state-owned holiday chalet in Changi was redeveloped into a 380-room property.
Located along Jalan Loyang Besar, Coliwoo Resort Changi occupies a site spanning 35,400 sqm and is the company's largest hospitality development by land area.
The property is located near Changi Airport, Changi Business Park, Pasir Ris Park and Downtown East. It is designed to cater to international students, airline crew, leisure travellers and corporate professionals.
Accommodation ranges from studio units to maisonettes for families and groups. Facilities include swimming pools, a gym, outdoor sports court, co-working lounge, karaoke rooms, children's playground, gardens, a community farming garden, convenience shop and food and beverage stall.
Residents will also have access to community activities centred on wellness, social connections and family experiences. These include yoga and sound healing sessions, guided runs, cycling activities, barbecue gatherings and school holiday programmes.
The resort occupies a former holiday chalet that had been unused for several years. During a 10-month restoration, around 40% of the existing landscape and the original terracotta clay roof tiles were retained.
Sustainability measures include solar power, rainwater harvesting, food composting, EV charging facilities, energy-efficient lighting, WELS-certified sanitary fittings, ceiling fans to reduce air conditioning use, natural ventilation in the cafeteria and the reuse of timber from the original site for furniture and architectural features.
"The launch of Coliwoo Resort Changi marks a transformative milestone in our growth trajectory, establishing a brand-new frontier for eco-conscious hospitality in Singapore. Our vision was to honour the site's rich heritage while engineering a highly integrated ecosystem of sustainable infrastructure and premium communal spaces," said Kelvin Lim, executive chairman and CEO of Coliwoo.
