Xavier Pougnard is set to return to Shangri-La Singapore as its hotel manager, marking a homecoming for him and a new chapter for the hotel.

Pougnard’s earlier stint with the flagship property, from 2014 to 2019, left a lasting impact, during which he played a crucial role in overseeing the successful renovation of the Tower Wing and the strengthening Shangri-La’s positioning as a family and wellness property.

Under his previous leadership, Shangri-La Singapore repositioned itself as a leading family-friendly destination, catering to the needs of multi-generational guests with tailored experiences and amenities.

In his new role, Pougnard will be responsible for the daily operations of the hotel, including its numerous restaurants and bars, Shangri-La Apartments, and Shangri-La Residences. Additionally, he will focus on driving commercial growth, inspiring service excellence, enhancing guest engagement, strengthening community partnerships, and enhancing the hotel's status as a luxury family-oriented destination.

With over 23 years of experience in the luxury hotel industry, Pougnard’s expertise extends across various international cities, including key locations in Asia, Egypt, and the United States. His career encompasses significant contributions to properties like The Peninsula Hong Kong, where he spearheaded guestroom renovations, developed a conference centre, and orchestrated the Hotel's grand 85th anniversary celebrations. He has also made notable contributions to hotels such as Four Seasons Hotel Alexandria at San Stefano, Four Seasons Hotel Cairo at Nile Plaza, and The Ritz-Carlton Pentagon City.

John Rice, general manager of Shangri-La Singapore, expressed enthusiasm for Xavier's return, stating that his diverse experiences and accomplishments would bring a fresh perspective to the hotel.
