Familiar faces join PATA’s new executive board

The Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) has announced the re-appointment of Noredah Othman, CEO, Sabah Tourism Board and the election of Dr. Gerald Perez, vice president, Guam Visitors Bureau to the PATA Executive Board for a two-year term beginning 27 June 2023.

Othman brings 30 years of experience in Sabah's tourism sector, starting her career in 1990 and holding various positions, including assistant public affairs officer and senior marketing manager. In 2015, she was awarded the PATA Foundation's scholarship for Executive Development for Tourism (EDIT) Programme.

Dr. Perez, with a background in tourism and public service, holds a PhD in Tourism Development and Public Policy. He has had a successful career in private business and has been actively involved in various organizations and conferences. Currently, he serves as Vice President of the Guam Visitors Bureau and is a founding member of the Micronesia Cruise Association.

The PATA Executive Board also includes other industry veteran members such as Peter Semone as PATA chair; Forte Hotel Group chairman Benjamin Liao as PATA vice chair; Explore Himalaya Travel and Adventure president Suman Pandey as PATA secretary/treasurer; Mitra Malaysia group president Tunku Iskandar; DDP Publications managing director SanJeet; Asian Trails chairman Luzi Matzig; and Macao Institute for Tourism Studies president Dr. Fanny Vong.

Non-voting members include Soon-Hwa Wong, CEO, AsiaChina and Mayur (Mac) Patel, head of Asia, OAG.
