Centara Hotels & Resorts has appointed Andrew Shaw as its chief development officer, tasking the hospitality and real estate veteran with leading the Thai hotel group's global development strategy.
Shaw will oversee efforts to identify new markets and secure management, investment and development opportunities across Centara's six brands.
“Centara has a powerful foundation for future growth: a distinctive portfolio of brands, deep hospitality expertise and an authentic Thai identity that resonates strongly with guests and partners,” said Shaw_._
The new chief development officer brings more than 30 years of international experience spanning hotel development, investment analysis, capital structuring, commercial negotiation, asset management and value enhancement.
He joins from Hospitality Asset Solutions 360, where he was founding partner and advised hotel owners and investors across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific. Shaw was previously vice president of development at Dusit International, where he oversaw expansion strategies across EMEA.
He will report to chief operating officer Michael Henssler and work with the group's regional and executive teams on building its future pipeline.
Henssler noted that the new appointment “represents a significant step in strengthening Centara’s ability to deliver its long-term growth strategy”.
“As we expand, our priority is not simply to grow in scale, but to build a high-quality, strategically balanced portfolio with the right brands in the right markets. Andrew’s commercial discipline, international perspective and strong understanding of owner priorities will be instrumental in advancing that ambition and helping shape Centara’s next chapter of global growth.”
