WorldHotels has announced the addition of Hangzhou ZhongWei Goethe Hotel to its Distinctive collection, marking the brand's first location in Hangzhou and its 20th hotel in China.

The property, which overlooks West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage site, joins the upscale hotel group following a comprehensive refurbishment in 2021.

Located in Hangzhou's Shangcheng District, the hotel features 196 rooms and suites, including business and family options. Amenities include an Executive Club Lounge, all-day dining at the Lake View Restaurant, Chinese cuisine at ZhongWei Palace, a lobby bar, indoor swimming pool, spa, fitness center, and mahjong rooms.

The property boasts 1,500 square metres of meeting space, including the 800-square metre Goethe Hall with a 24-metre-high atrium. It has hosted several high-profile events, such as the 2016 B20 Summit and 2019 Asian Games.

“With its striking design, breathtaking views of the UNESCO listed West Lake, remarkable facilities and world-class conference and banqueting venues, this is an outstanding option for visitors to Hangzhou,” said Olivier Berrivin, vice president – APAC, BWH Hotels.

The hotel is accessible via two nearby subway lines and is 27 kilometres from Hangzhou International Airport.
